Camp Carew Cook

This position is with Camp Carew, 303 Hidden Bay Ln, Makanda, IL  62958, and is seasonal (summers).

The Camp Counselor reports to the Program Director and Camp Director and is repsonsible for all meal planning and preparing, ordering and inventory, cleanliness and organization of kitchen, and following State Licensing Compliance Standards for each summer camp session.

Applicants must be 19 years of age and a high school graduate or equivalent.  Previous experience working in a kitchen and/or food industry is required.

Responsibilities for Head Cook include the operation of the kitchen and planning of all summer camp menus according to the US Dept. of Health and Human Services/US Dept. of Agriculture, Dietary Guidelines for Americans 2021.  Must prepare all necessary meals and snacks for all sessions.  Must ensure compliance with local and state standards for licensing.
