Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for preparing the kitchen for daily breakfasts and lunches by filling the line with the proper amounts of food.
  • Responsible for ensuring that all food items are prepared fresh, served at proper temperatures and in a timely manner.
  • Ensures all plates go out clean and well presented.
  • Operates food preparation machinery including slicers, mincers, can openers, fryers, ovens etc.
  • Ensures proper storage of frozen and fresh food items and thawing of frozen food.
  • Reports any equipment malfunction to Restaurant Manager.
  • Maintains a good communication with co-workers and maintains a positive and professional work environment.
  • Assists other kitchen staff as needed upon the request of management.
  • Performs other duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications:

One-year experience in the restaurant or kitchen food preparation field. Must be at least 18 years of age. Must be able to successfully pass a pre-employment drug/alcohol screen and background investigation. Native American preference will be given.


Knowledge, Abilities, Skills, and Certifications:

  • Knowledge of food preparation methods and techniques.
  • Knowledge of operation of food preparation equipment and machinery.
  • Knowledge of operation of holding ovens and baking ovens.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in the English language, both verbally and in writing with supervisor and fellow employees.
  • Ability to work in a busy, fast paced work environment and to perform in a professional appearance and manner.

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee occasionally is required to sit; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.


Work Environment:

Work is generally performed in the restaurant and kitchen area with exposure to heat, fumes and steam. Evening and/or weekend work may be required.
