Jon Favreau Shows the Internet How to Make a Cuban Sandwich

Jon Favreau is an easy guy to be a fan of. First off he’s been in some really good movies: Swingers, The Replacements, tons and tons more, and recently, Chef. He’s written, produced, directed more great movies. He runs an authentic, personal but at the same time self promoting in an endearing way, sometimes funny, always inspiring Twitter feed.

Foodies found an instant connection in Favreau’s 2014 Chef which he produced, wrote, directed, and starred in. If you haven’t seen it make a point to. His portrayal of a rockstar chef who likes to make a mess of his life and cook his way out of it is deep, heartwarming and feels so real. Here’s a glimpse of Favreau as Chef Carl Casper making a cuban sandwich in his food truck:

I know what you’re thinking: Ok, so what? He makes a sandwich in a movie, I can’t eat that. Or can you? Turns out Favreau wants to share his Cubano with the world:

Not only did he post a teaser pic on twitter, he then followed up by posting the entire recipe on Imgur. Wait, what? Jon Favreau is an Imgurian? Turns out, yes he is. He even uses the actual plancha from the food truck in the movie. Check out the whole gallery:

Cuban sandwiches I made for the Super Bowl. First time I cooked these since Chef was released. Still delicious!
