Who you are:

  • High school graduate
  • Minimum of 4 years high volume production cooking experience
  • Ability to speak, read and write English
  • Requires advanced cooking skills and creative food presentation

Job Summary:

As the Entrée Cook, your main responsibility will be to prepare and serve delicious and healthy breakfast, lunch, and dinner meals for our residents and catered events. You will also oversee all food production and ensure that our high standards for quality are consistently met. Your passion for creating appetizing and nutritious dishes will be greatly valued in this role.

Essential Job Duties:

  • Reviews daily menu and scheduled work assignments and ensure that daily production is running smoothly
  • Prepares entrees, soups, and modified foods
  • Follows established production methods in accordance with standardized recipes
  • Assures all food stations are properly set up prior to service. Ensures that all foods are at the correct temperatures prior to and during mealtimes
  • Fabricates meat, poultry, and seafood into individual portions according to portion control guidelines
  • Monitors and enforces portion control throughout meal service
  • Observes and tastes food being prepared and adds ingredients or seasonings to improve flavor, texture, and/or appearance
  • Performs closing procedures to ensure that sanitation and storage standards are maintained and that all storage areas are secure
  • Covers, labels, dates, and stores all food. Utilizes unused portions in a logical manner
  • Makes appropriate menu substitutions when necessary and informs all staff
  • Monitors and reports any safety, sanitation, or food handling concerns to the supervisor immediately
  • Follows and completes daily sanitation schedule.
  • Delegates, oversees and monitors cleaning done by all other staff members

Pay Rate: $18.00 – 24.00/hr.
