THE JOB:

Join our vibrant kitchen team as an Assistant Chef at Diablos, where you'll support our culinary staff in crafting the authentic flavors of Mexican cuisine. You'll work closely with the Executive Sous Chef and Executive Chef to prepare and present dishes that reflect our commitment to quality and tradition. Your role will involve assisting in meal preparation, maintaining kitchen cleanliness, and contributing to a dynamic kitchen environment.

THE DAY-TO-DAY:

  • Expertise in Culinary: Maintain deep knowledge and proficiency in preparing base sauces, stocks, and soups, ensuring foundational elements meet our high standards.

  • Support Executive Chef: Assist the Executive Chef in managing purchasing, receiving, purveyor lists, and inventory of all kitchen items, ensuring efficient and cost-effective operations.

  • Maintain Superior Food Quality: Vigilantly monitor food quality, taking immediate action to correct any irregularities and uphold the restaurant's reputation for excellence.

  • Product Labeling and Dating: Implement strict labeling and dating protocols for all products to ensure safekeeping, sanitation, and compliance with food safety standards.

  • Schedule Management: Prepare and administer the kitchen schedule, optimizing staffing levels to meet the demands of the restaurant while maintaining work-life balance for team members.

WHAT YOU MUST HAVE:

  • High School Diploma, GED or equivalent educational experience

  • 2 years of prior relevant experience as a Sous Chef, Assistant Chef, or Master Cook
