Function:
Prepares (and serves as
needed) all food items purchased in the Cafe; maintains a clean and
sanitary work area; keeps work area organized and running efficiently; follows
the laws of the State Health Department.
WORK
PERFORMED:
- Sets
up area for the shift by stocking food and supplies, prepping food,
cleaning fryers, etc.
- Cooks
food according to established recipes, ensuring the quality is up to
the established standards. Presents
the food on the plate attractively.
- Works safely by keeping water, oil, food, and other items off the floor, cleaning solutions out of the food area, using knives and other utensils properly, and following the suggested practices outlined in the Employee Handbook.
- Follows
all the laws governed by the State Health Department.
- Is
groomed and dressed in a manner suitable for working with and around
food.
- Keeps
a clean and organized work area.
- Stocks
food and supplies for the next shift.
- Sweeps
and mops floors at the end of their shift and as needed throughout their
shift.
- Empties
garbage and breaks down boxes.
- Uses
proper cleaning solutions to clean grill and pizza station at the end of
their shift.
Basic
Qualifications:
Must be 18 years of age.
Minimum 6 months
experience in related kitchen positions and cooking techniques.
Ability to handle heat.
Ability to stand for the entire shift
Ability to handle multiple tasks without getting confused
Ability to use liquid and dry measurements to follow recipes
Ability to lift moderate weights
Good coordination to be able to work around knives and
ovens.
Ability to communicate in a positive manner to both internal
and external guests.
Ability to receive certifications required for the position.
Schedule: Varies, must be able to work nights, days, weekends and holidays.
