Description
We are looking for a skilled Cook to prepare delicious meals according to menu. You will cook dishes that will delight our customers with their taste and timely delivery. An excellent cook must be able to follow instructions in cooking and delivering well-prepared meals. They must be deft in moving around the kitchen and apt in multi-tasking. Experience in using various ingredients and cooking techniques is also important. The goal is to help preserve and enhance our reputation so we can expand our customer base through fantastic food and absolutely terrific customer service.
Duties and responsibilities
- Ensure prep for each station is done to the quantity established by the head cook.
- Put effort in optimizing the cooking process with attention to speed and quality
- Set up and stock stations with all necessary supplies
- Cook menu items in cooperation with the rest of the kitchen staff
- Answer, report and follow head cook or restaurant managers instructions
- Use and ensure staff is using all daily, weekly, monthly checklists
- Clean up station and take care of leftover food
- Stock inventory appropriately/put orders away quickly and efficiently
- Ensure that food comes out simultaneously, in high quality and in a timely fashion
- Maintain a positive and professional approach with customers
- Ensure great presentation by dressing dishes before they are served and plated as expected by the head cook.
- Keep a sanitized and orderly environment in the kitchen
- Ensure all food and other items are stored properly
- Check quality of ingredients
- Promptly report safety, equipment and food quality problems to Restaurant Owner
Working conditions
- Must be able to work in hot conditions for extended periods of time (80-100 degrees)
- Must be able to work in cold conditions for short periods of time (10-40 degrees)
- Must be able to safely work around chemicals commonly used in restaurant and kitchen environments
- Have exceptional grooming and hygiene habits.
Physical requirements
- Must be able to stand for extended periods of time while working (2-6hours at a time)
- Must be able to lift up to 50lbs
- Frequent bending, turning, shifting, kneeling walking and lifting of common kitchen items will be required throughout each shift.
- Must be able to work around all common foods including but not limited to fruits, nuts, raw meats and shellfish that would commonly be found in a restaurant kitchen environment
