Job Description:

Production Cook – 1st shift

Responsible for performing appropriate activities to provide prepared foods for patients, childcare, cafeteria, and special functions. Follows standard recipes, production sheets, and all regulatory agency requirements in regard to food preparation, food safety & sanitation. Maintains an organized, clean, and sanitary work area. Concentrates on the consistent quality of foods prepared.

Job Description

  • Follow production sheets, /menus and preparing foods according to standardized recipes.
  • Cooks are responsible for consulting with management on any menu changes.
  • Responsible proper portioning of foods according to recipes, diets, production sheets, and state regulations.
  • Responsible for maintaining clean, sanitary, and organized work area.
  • Communicates and works appropriately with Executive Chef/Food Production supervisor and other department personnel.
  • Uses knowledge of personal safety on the job including the use of a cutting glove, also used knowledge of departmental food safety to include accurate temperature checks and infection control practices, follows hospital and departmental policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • Ability to read and write

Preferred Requirements

  • 2 – 3 years cooking experience preferred.
