The Cook role: As a Cook at our assisted living/senior living home located in South Berwick, ME, you will support approximately 30 seniors to live life fully by preparing healthy, delicious meals. You will prep food, cook all menu items according to standardized recipes, serve, stock, and clean up after meals. You are responsible for safe food handling and preparing food to meet the therapeutic needs of the residents. An ideal candidate enjoys interacting with seniors and is happy working in a professional senior home environment.

Pay rate ranging from $16.00/hr. to $17.50/hr. depending on certifications. Hiring immediately! No experience? No problem! We are willing to train the right individual!

Part-time position available. Schedule: Evenings with every other weekend (Saturday and Sunday) 12:30p-7:30p.

There is the opportunity to make this a full-time position if someone is willing to cross-train as a Personal Support Specialist (PSS). A PSS will assist with personal care and inspire residents to participate in fun, recreational activities.


Requirements

  • One year of experience as a line cook, prep cook or breakfast cook in a food service setting and experience working with seniors is preferred, but not required.
  • 18 years of age or over.
  • High school diploma/GED preferred, but not required.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with residents and coworkers whose primary language is English
