The Corporate Chef and Product Training Manager will lead and execute a comprehensive training program to elevate product knowledge and skillsets across the organization. This role will collaborate closely with executive leadership, business unit heads, and operational teams to deliver impactful training experiences that align with the company's brand and strategic goals.
The ideal candidate will have experience working as a Chef, a passion for food and have an ongoing personal interest in food, food trends and the foodservice industry. They should have a critical eye and be able to spot details when observing the industry. A natural curiosity for the foodservice industry is required.
Job Responsibilities
Training Needs Assessment and Planning:
- Conduct thorough needs assessments with key stakeholders, including executive management, business unit leaders, and managers.
- Develop and implement comprehensive training strategy and plans aligned with business objectives and industry trends.
Event Planning and Execution:
Plan, coordinate, and execute on-brand events and meetings, both on-site and off-site, including:
- Guest experience management
- Event flow planning and organization
- Vendor and service provider coordination
- Development and review of presentation materials
- Training delivery and facilitation
- Resource planning and logistics
- Post-event surveys and analysis
Budget Management:
- Develop and manage a functional budget for Vollrath University customer training.
Product Expertise and Support:
Serve as a product expert across all product lines, providing training and support to:
- Culinary professionals (e.g., Executive Chefs, Foodservice Directors)
- Category management, sales, and customer service teams
Facility Management:
Oversee the Vollrath University facility, including:
- Maintenance and appearance
- Supply ordering
- Renovation and improvement planning
- Space reservation management
- Food and beverage service, ensuring food safety and brand standards.
Training Development and Delivery:
Develop and deliver effective training materials and programs to:
- Drive sales of existing products
- Support new product launches
- Keep up-to-date with industry trends and techniques
- Conduct product demonstrations on-site and off-site
Other duties as assigned.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree and culinary degree is preferred.
- 5+ years’ experience in training and development, preferably in the foodservice industry.
- Wisconsin Food Manager/SERVE SAFE certification required or ability to obtain certification.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Strong PC skills.
- Strong background in event planning.
- Strong oral communication skills.
- Must be comfortable being in front of groups and on camera.
- Strong understanding of adult learning principles and instructional design.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal.
- Proficiency in relevant software (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite, LMS).
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
- Passion for food, cooking, and the foodservice industry.
Travel
- Ability to travel up to 25 percent.
