Steak 'n Shake is hiring immediately for Production Team Members - Back of House to join their team!


The Production Team or Back of House has the primary responsibility to administer the quality food to every 

single guest within their assigned job while maintaining guest sensitivity, cleanliness, restocking, sanitation, 

uniform, safety, security, and company policy requirements. Production team is accountable for leading and 

delivering fresh quality food within Steak N Shake standards in the eyes of the guests. The position has the role but not limited to Grill Associate, Dress Table Associate, Fry Associate, Food Prep, Fountain, Busser and 

Dishwasher. The Production Team must keep guests satisfied by not sacrificing quantity over quality. All menu items must be fresh and comply with food preparation processes. The Production Team members must be able to be team players to expedite orders accurately and timely. Must be able to retain menu item information.  


Production Team Member - Back of House Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Part time and/ or Full Time Position
  • Reports to Operational Supervisor/ and or Production Trainer
  • Retain menu item information and changes
  • Responsible for excellent guest experience
  • Maintains policies and procedures
  • Passionate about guest service
  • Maintains optimal restaurant cleanliness
  • Ability to learn and be proficient in all positions of the back of house
  • Meets basic math and reading requirements
  • Ability to lift 20-30Ibs occasionally
  • Effectively interact with guests and associates
  • Uphold professional relationships with associates and guests while under stress
  • Maintain personal hygiene and cleanliness


Job Summary:

1. Daily work assignments assigned but not limited to grill, food prep, dress, fry, fountain, busser, dishwasher, porter or janitorial work

2. Actively ensure service, hospitality, accuracy, and speed

3. Demonstrate effective decision making and problem solving

4. Possess communication skills

5. Effectively follow all tasks always assigned by Supervisor to best of ability

6. Effectively follow all food, safety, and sanitation compliances in accordance with Health Departments at City, County, State and Federal guidelines and laws.
